Nature of Membership Subscription

Membership subscriptions are contributions towards the functioning and objectives of GSISOA.

They do not constitute payment for commercial goods or services.

Cancellation of Membership

By the Member

A member may resign or seek cessation of membership in accordance with the Constitution and Bye-laws.

By GSISOA

Membership may be suspended or terminated by the competent authority in accordance with the Constitution and Bye-laws.

Refund Policy

Membership subscriptions shall ordinarily be non-refundable after approval and activation of membership.

Refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances including:

• Duplicate payments;
• Multiple debits;
• Technical errors;
• Membership rejection due to ineligibility;
• Other exceptional circumstances approved by the Council.

Refund Procedure

Refund requests shall:

• Be submitted through official email;
• Include supporting documents;
• Be verified by the Association;
• Be approved by the competent authority.

Processing Period

Approved refunds shall be processed through the original mode of payment subject to banking procedures.

Membership Year, Renewal and Grace Period

In accordance with the Constitution and Bye-laws of the Geological Survey of India Scientific Officers' Association (GSISOA), membership of the Association shall be annual in nature and shall remain subject to the provisions governing eligibility, subscription and continuation of membership as prescribed therein.

The official Membership Year of GSISOA shall commence on 1 August of each year and shall conclude on 31 July of the succeeding year, or such other period as may be prescribed through amendments to the Constitution and Bye-laws.

All members shall renew their membership for the ensuing Membership Year by payment of the prescribed annual subscription and completion of such formalities as may be prescribed by the Association from time to time.

To ensure continuity of membership and to facilitate administrative convenience, a grace period of one month shall be admissible after the expiry of the Membership Year. Accordingly, membership renewal for a Membership Year may be completed up to 31 August immediately following the close of the Membership Year without interruption of membership status.

A member who fails to renew membership within the prescribed Membership Year and the permissible grace period ending on 31 August may be treated as having allowed his/her membership to lapse, subject to the provisions of the Constitution and Bye-laws of GSISOA.

The rights and privileges of membership, including eligibility to vote, contest elections, hold office, participate in meetings, receive Association communications and avail such other benefits as may be prescribed, shall be governed by the Constitution and Bye-laws of GSISOA and shall be available only to members whose membership stands valid and duly renewed.

Restoration, re-admission or regularization of membership after lapse shall be considered only in accordance with the Constitution and Bye-laws of GSISOA and such procedures, conditions and decisions as may be prescribed by the Council from time to time.

For the avoidance of doubt, all matters relating to membership, renewal, cessation, restoration, subscription, voting rights and eligibility shall be governed by the Constitution and Bye-laws of GSISOA, and this Policy shall be read harmoniously with those provisions.
